A community update from Chorley Police
On 13th April, Chorley Police reported that they would be increasing their presence on Buckshaw Village. This came about as a result of increasing calls reporting anti-social behaviour and a concern over large youth gatherings. The operation was called for by local Police Officer PC Nichola Barff-Lewis, and more patrols will be running in the near future in order to crack down on issues around the village.
Their first targeted patrol was a success as they were able to seize a motorised scooter which was being joy ridden around. Sadly we have recently seen an increase in anti-social behaviour, car thefts and criminal damage on the village, so an increase in patrols is very much a good thing and at the right time for our community. The Police were keen to point out that if you see them on patrol, feel free to say hello and report any issues that you feel they need to be aware of.
