How did you end up working in property?

Property has been in my life for as long as I remember. When I was younger I worked on the phones after school and on Sundays for a property company. During School & University summer holidays I worked at a local property management company and found enjoyment from helping with refurbishing houses or finding tenants when the properties came empty. Once I had been to University, I worked as a graduate in a regional commercial property surveyors and qualified as a Surveyor through The College of Estate Management. I am now a member of Propertymark National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) as well as being a member of the Parliamentary Review and Leaders Council, providing insight to the Government on all aspects of the property industry.

Where does the name Tiger come from?

I went to the University of Hull and enjoyed my time there, so I have a bit of an affinity with the City of Hull. The football team is known as the Tigers, and although I am not a Hull City fan, I liked the name. A friend of mine when we were discussing potential names for my new business recommended it as well. It also, happens to be easy to spell and very recognisable, which makes for great branding on For Sale and To Let boards, cars and buses.

Where are your offices?

We currently have two high street offices in Blackpool and an office on the Docks at Preston (The Old Docks House). We’re hoping to expand into Leyland very soon, and would love to hear from you if you’re looking to buy, sell or rent in the local area!

Do you live locally?

Although I was born and raised in Blackpool, I moved to Buckshaw Village in 2014. It was a fantastic decision and is now home as both of my children have nursery and friends in the area. We have some super places locally and we’re very lucky to have some amazing restaurants, pubs, parks and countryside walks all around us. A particular family favourite walk of ours is around Cuerden Valley Park and we love stopping off for lunch at Cuerden View Café.

What do you enjoy in your spare time?

I have a young family with a three year old son and two year old daughter, so away from work most of my spare time is spent being Daddy. When I do manage to get some time to myself, I enjoy playing football on a Tuesday night for F.L. of Buckshaw, getting out on a bike ride around Euxton, Leyland, Eccleston or Croston, and a Friday night beer
