Boundary Commission For England

As if the boundaries of Buckshaw Village weren’t complicated enough, what with the village being split over different Parish Councils and different local authorities, but the latest aspect of Government which is under review is the parliamentary boundaries.

There are some unexpected proposals being put forward and this includes taking the Adlington & Anderton ward (Adlington, Anderton, Anglezarke & Rivington) and the Chorley North East ward out of the Chorley constituency.

In turn, these areas would then be grouped together with areas of Darwen, Rawtenstall and Helmshore and would be represented by a Member of Parliament for a new constituency called West Pennine Moors.

Buckshaw Village in general would remain within its current split of Chorley and South Ribble, but a part of Whittle-le-Woods is proposed as also being moved into the suggested West Pennine Moors constituency.
