Passing of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh
It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Prince Philip on 9th April; he passed just weeks away from his 100th birthday.
He was the longest serving Consort in British History, and served not only the Queen but also the Country and Commonwealth for nearly 70 years. A number of tributes were paid not only in Buckshaw Village and surrounding areas but also across the whole country; with Union Flags being lowered to half mast, Church bells being rung and the respectful observing of silences.
The funeral took place on 17th April and our thoughts remain with Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this sad time.
