“So Long BVC, Farewell, It’s Been Wonderful”
After eight years of leading Buckshaw Village Church it is finally time for me to move on.
When we arrived eight years ago everything was smaller.
Buckshaw was smaller, the church was smaller and our children were smaller. But good things grow and BVC is a good thing. I know there are still many that don’t know that BVC even exists but I hope that this changes. It is a church that is doing wonderful things! Check out the website Buckshaw Village Church (bvchurch.co.uk)
Not only does BVC provide a warm welcome and great worship for all ages, but it helps, encourages and supports the community in ways that many will never know. It has helped to create tradition at important times such as Remembrance, Christmas and Easter. It has partnered with the school, it has worked with food banks, the retirement village, mental health services, the NHS, enabled baptisms, weddings, funerals, holiday clubs, youth clubs; the list is endless!
It would be devastating if BVC ever left the village. But…it’s not! It’s just me. And I’m not even leaving, I’m going. There is a big difference. I’m off to rural communities in Yorkshire to see what God wants to grow there too. Because God makes things good, and good things grow. Equally my prayer is that this next chapter for BVC will be one of growth and flourishing.
Thank you for your friendship.
